The quarterly MITcrc Running Clinics provide excellent preparation for major events and fun walks/runs. We invite family and friends who are not participating in our events as they will also learn valuable fitness skills. Danny Dreyer conducts the clinics, which include both group and personal coaching. His unique recommendations increase both walking and running enjoyment and performance. Danny, ultramarathoner and founder of ChiRunning, pioneered effortless running, contributes to Running Times, and completed the Western States 100 Miler.
MITcrc Running Clinics Saturdays, scheduled quarterly 2:00 to 4:00 pm Cost: $10 cash or check to MITcrc
ChiRunning combines the inner concentration and smooth flowing movement of Tıai Chi with the power and energy of running. Together these two disciplines bring your workouts to a whole new level, while dramatically decreasing the possibility of injuries. Although each clinic emphasizes particular skills, form basics are reviewed at all clinics. Our Clinic calendar is designed to introduce and reinforce skills for upcoming events.

Running form imperfections cause much discomfort and many injuries. As you attempt to add either distance or speed to a less than perfect base, the odds of incurring some form of injury increase exponentially. It's all correctable with improved form. Injuries do occasionally happen, and Danny also works with you to overcome them.
Danny sincerely cares about your running. When Scott pulled a groin muscle two weeks before the Boston Marathon, Danny responded to Scott's urgent need and met him for the first time in Golden Gate Park. Danny successfully modified Scott's form so he could run the Marathon. Danny's coaching also enabled Scott to place second in his age class at the San Bruno Mountain half marathon and complete four marathons in eight months. As Scott doesn't log high mileage weeks, he benefits significantly from Danny's coaching.
The September 29, 2001 MITcrc Running Clinic generated enthusiasm and results. The MITcrc Running Clinic helped John win an award at the Silicon Valley Marathon. "Thanks for organizing the entire MITcrc Silicon Valley Marathon effort. The technique learned from Danny proved to help me in the half marathon. I finished third in my division! I was quite shocked considering I didn't specifically train for it!"
MITcrc Running Clinics frequently meet at the base of the main ramp into Stanford Stadium. Turn into Stanford University on Galvez Street from El Camino Real. Galvez is the first street south of Palm Drive, the main entrance to Stanford University. Take the first left, which is Nelson Road. Then take the next left, which is Sam McDonald Road. This road passes between the Stadium main entrance on your left and parking lot on your right. You'll see the main ramp gate to the right of the Stadium ticket booths.
